The Penhall Company, has immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic in Seattle, WA to join our team.

This is your opportunity to leverage your mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair abilities to join a strong and stable company with a history of success, and serve as the mechanic responsible for concrete breaking and other equipment, and several trucks.

Penhall has been the go-to concrete services partner for a wide-range of industries since 1957. What began as a single flat saw operation has developed into an expansive offering of concrete solutions, including concrete scanning, cutting, sawing and breaking/removal. Today, Penhall is the largest U.S. supplier of concrete services. Our capabilities and expertise span across 43 locations in 21 states & Canada.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing all types of construction equipment

- Work with diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic components

- Experience with small equipment and trucks

- Experience in Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel Engine preferred

- Welding (MIG, TIG, ARC) and fabrication

- Fluency in the English language, verbal and written

- Physical exertion required, Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 90 pounds

- Frequent exposure to the elements

- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy construction equipment

- Able to work a rotating on-call weekend schedule

- Provide high quality control standards while maintaining high levels of equipment readiness



- 3-5 years' experience

- Must have stable prior work history -2 years or more continuous employment with same employer

- Diamond blade equipment experience

- English written and verbal communication

- Welding and fabrication experience

- Interact with Penhall Company field of day-to-day basis

- Must have verifiable previous employment

- Pass a required pre-employment drug screen & random 

- Pass a pre-employment background record (7 years) & periodical checks 

- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving history

- Ability to work days/nights/weekends or out of town if necessary

- Must be authorized to work in the US

- Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations

- Must have reliable transportation

- Must have steel toe leather work boots

You'll generally work a Monday through Friday, 40 hour work week -- most likely a 6 to 3 or 7 to 4 shift. This is, however, a service role and you should be willing to stay late, work an occasional Saturday, and be on-call as needed. Training is coordinated between divisions so you can plan to be away a week or two for training shortly after joining us.
