The Penhall Company, has immediate opening for an experienced Senior Dispatcher.  Must have a minimum of 5 plus years' experience. Construction industry and or field services experience preferred, concrete and building materials experience a plus.

The primary responsibility to schedule services directly or through subordinate dispatchers. May schedule and dispatches workers, equipment or vehicles as requests are received.   Maintain logs, records and schedules of calls received monitor resources, vehicles and responsible for communicating resources to divisional leadership.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 

  • Receive or prepare work orders, including quoting or providing cost estimates to customers
  • Consult with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and request for service or equipment
  • Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required
  • Schedule and dispatch workers, work crew, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs
  • Order supplies and equipment and issue them to personnel
  • Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field personnel
  • Oversee daily work and run schedules
  • Maintain files or records of customer requests
  • Review records or reports pertaining to construction activities
  • Other duties as assigned by divisional leadership

Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • 5-8 years related service dispatch experience
  • Supervise and manage 2-3 subordinate dispatchers and their related activities
  • Expert knowledge of principles and methods for dispatching personnel and equipment
  • Expert knowledge of local thoroughfares, routes and surrounding areas
  • Skilled communication and organizational skills essential
  • Union Labor Relations experience in basic principles of labor/management partnerships
  • Human Resources recruiting, interviewing, hiring, discipline/coaching/mentoring
  • Union Labor Relations (as required) basic principles of labor / management partnerships
  • Computer/Office Machines Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook
  • English proficient in business writing and verbal communication
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicle
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances
  • Knowledge and accuracy in arithmetic important
  • Prepare time, cost, equipment and labor estimates for projects.
  • Develop budgets, schedules and plans for project elements
  • Diver the analysis and planning for personnel and equipment needs
  • Own the logistics process to facilitate communication, coordination and cooperation to ensure optimization of the company's scale
  • As necessary oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan
  • Mobilizes company resources, though liaison with support departments Division offices, to created project teams capable of completing effective profitable, quality work



  • Pass a required pre-employment drug screen & random

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving history
  • Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations
