Penhall Company's is currently accepting applications for a DIRECTOR OF FIBER RE-INFORCED POLYMER STRENGTHENING (FRP).  The Director will be responsible for the development and execution of business related to National and Regional Accounts, Master Service Agreements and New Strategic Markets for Penhall Fiber Reinforced Polymer Strengthening Division (FRB)

Today, Penhall is the largest U.S. supplier of concrete services. Our capabilities and expertise span across 43 locations in 21 states & Canada.

 Duties and responsibilities:

Identifying and Bidding Opportunities

-Meets with perspective clients regarding FRB service needs

-Engage in development of new FRB Project opportunities and contract procurement including estimating and bidding for public, private and negotiated projects

-Obtains bids, qualifies bids, specifies technical approaches; identifies qualified subcontractors

-Maintains bid list pipeline and coordinates with FRB Account Managers and Project Managers  

-Prepares proposals and estimates for project work

 Negotiating and Networking

-Negotiates with vendor, suppliers, and contractors to obtain the best price and delivery schedule

-Solicits bids from suppliers before recommending a decision

-Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

-Establishes professional and personal networks

 Planning

-Details the steps required of a successful project from the bid process to completion

-Calculates the material costs and personnel needed to complete the project

-Prepares schedules to show project activity completion

-Prepares budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs

-Evaluates costing changes, additions, and site requirements

-Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

-Supervising and Hiring

-Organizes activities and meets with project teams to review goals and progress

supervises support staff, such as estimators and project managers, superintendents, field operators, and helpers

-Explains worksite policy, project goals and safety procedures to field employees

-Identifies project personnel and support staff for projects as necessary

-Experience in working with unions and labor relation guidelines

-Makes recommendations to Region Leadership regarding hiring targets

 Project Controls Management

-Works the RVP and Region Business Manager on project controls to develop project tracking and performance metrics

-Responsible for Revenue and P&L of Penhall's FRB division

develops project performance reports with project controls personnel

-Monthly, quarterly and annual project finances review for corporate financial reports

-Prepares cost overruns, workplace injuries, or the causes of delays

-Evaluates project performance against baseline and works with project controls personnel to manage activity change documentation and change order impacts

-Evaluates project performance against baseline and works with project controls personnel to project staffing curves and equipment needs

-Evaluates project performance against baseline and works with project controls personnel to project payment timelines and subcontractor payment requirements

-Revises schedules and budgets as needed, reordering tasks or assignments so that timelines and budgets are met

-Maintains quality service by following organization standards

-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

 Essential Skills

-Technical Management ' Knowledge of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Strengthening (FRB) business and management principles involved in strategic planning, documenting, reporting, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources in FRB Strengthening environment

 -Customer and Personal Service ' Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction, vendor relationships

 -Identifying Project Opportunities and Bidding ' Knowledge of the Fiber Reinforced Polymer Strengthening (FRP)  Industry, its clients and upcoming opportunities to strategically place the company in a position to bid and win FRB project opportunities.

 -Personnel and Human Resources ' Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, teamwork, and training

 -Economics and Accounting ' Knowledge and understanding of financial data related to each project, developing budgets, estimating, bidding, qualifying work

 Production and Processing ' Knowledge of quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective services

 Critical Thinking ' Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

 Monitoring ' Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

 Required Skills

-Bachelors of Science degree in Architectual (structural) Engineering

-5 plus year expireince in bidding and Project Management of FRB projects

-Computer Proficiency- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, CRM
